Swaziland
Beginning Oct. 23, 2011 Restoration Church is entering into a five year partnership with Children's Hope Chest (hopechest.org) to sponsor and care for 50 orphans at an orphan Care Pointe in Mpake, Swaziland.
Swaziland is a nation of just under one million people on the borders of South Africa and Mozambique. Swaziland has the highest rate of HIV/AIDS in the world per at nearly 42% of the nation infected. In the past 10 years half of the population has died, largely due to AIDS. The average lifespan is only into the early 30's.
Because there are virtually no orphanages in Swaziland, these children are literally left to fend for themselves without any means of survival. Widely held myths and misunderstandings about AIDS have left many girls vulnerable to sexual abuse and infection of HIV. Young children throughout Swazi are often found to be the head of the household, caring for all their younger siblings and other children who have no one. Orphans are left susceptible to malnutrition, disease, and abuse. Children roam the streets unclothed and hungry looking for answers and for someone to care for them. Due to this harsh reality HopeChest has created a place for orphans to find refuge, a place to be loved and fed - a CarePoint.
Through monthly sponsorships of each child ($34 mo.) you will provide 10 meals a week for each child, support for grandmas and native Christian workers to love and cared for your child, and a safe place for orphans to play and be kids in Swaziland who would otherwise be left to fend for themselves.
Each summer we will be travelling to Swaziland to visit our orphans, and play with them, love them, and encourage them with a Vacation Bible School. The cost of the trip will be around $3,000-$4,000.

Won't you join us as we try and save a generation in a nation that the UN says will be wiped out by the year 2050?
